Apply for Permanent Residency in Canada
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway
The Accelerated Tech Pathway of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) expedites processing for foreign workers who are currently employed by or have a job offer from an Alberta-based tech industry employer in a qualified tech occupation.
Individuals who successfully complete the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway will be awarded a work permit support letter, which will allow them to apply for a temporary work permit. Successful nominees will also be invited to file an official application for permanent residence in Canada.
Accelerated Tech Pathway Job Offer Requirements
Certain job offer requirements are part of the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway. A suitable job offer must be for one of the 44 identified in-demand jobs or for a position with an Albertan company in an applicable tech industry. You and your Alberta employer must sign the job offer or contract, which should include information regarding your employment. The position must be full-time, ongoing, and for at least a year. The wage or compensation must meet or exceed the provincial minimum wage and, if applicable, any LMIA conditions. If an applicant does not have an LMIA, their job offer must match or surpass the starting income for their occupation in all Alberta industries. Candidates should use the same primary NOC when submitting an Express Entry profile.
If you need assistance in determining the NOC code for your occupation, you can search by job title keyword or NOC code search on the NOC website.
