LMIA Consultant in Dubai

Our experts specialize in submitting LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) applications, a crucial document for Canadian businesses looking to hire foreign workers. The LMIA confirms the need for a foreign worker to fill a job that cannot be filled by a Canadian resident.

The primary goal of LMIAs is to safeguard the Canadian labor market and ensure the well-being of Temporary Foreign Workers coming to Canada for employment. Before a foreign worker can commence work in Canada, their LMIA application must be approved by the Canadian government.

Navigating LMIA applications can be complex and time-consuming, often requiring extensive interaction with government entities such as the IMWU (International Mobility Worker Unit) and the TFWP (Temporary Foreign Worker Program). Our team of LMIA immigration professionals is dedicated to assisting you promptly and efficiently throughout the process.

What is a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)?

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a crucial document required by Canadian firms before recruiting foreign workers. A positive LMIA confirms the need for a foreign worker to fill a specific position and indicates that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available for the role. It is also referred to as a confirmation letter.

Who needs a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)?

Certain categories of temporary workers require employers to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) before applying for a work permit. An LMIA, issued by Employment and Social Development Canada, permits companies to hire temporary workers.

How long does LMIA approval take?

LMIA processing times vary from 15 days to several months depending on circumstances. A precise and thorough application accelerates the process. Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) guarantees a ten-day processing time for three categories: highly demanded jobs, short-term employment of 120 days or less, and high-paying positions not in the top 10%. Upon approval, ESDC issues a confirmation letter or valid LMIA, allowing companies to hire foreign workers when no Canadians are available. The individual can then apply for a work permit.

How Long is LMIA Valid?

Typically, an LMIA remains valid for 18 months to support a work visa application. However, ESDC may issue LMIAs with shorter expiration dates for specific short-term employment opportunities.

What is a job offer letter?

A job offer letter is a document sent by a Canadian business to a prospective temporary employee, outlining the specifics of the employment offer. It differs from an “offer of employment,” which is submitted by the employer through the Employer Portal when an LMIA is not required. This process generates an offer of employment number necessary for the work visa application.
